Sunday Club Ride Black Group via Georges Barn Peene.

A group of seven headed out in bright sunshine, with a slightly chilly westerly for a flat’ish route out to Peene. Early into the ride young Mac collected a screw in his rear tubeless tyre, causing it to puncture. Like a true pro, Mac relied on his team to sort him out with kit, advice and discussing the failures of tubeless tyres. After fitting a new innertube it was noted that a very small section of the tyre hadn’t seated correctly and having used up all his CO2 it was decided, because we are a impatient bunch to crack on and monitor it. With a tidy tail wind we were soon tanking along the marsh, Mac even had the confidence in his rear tyre to take on Steve, although sadly losing in the New Church sign sprint. Through Hythe and up Barrack Hill to Saltwood and once we had regrouped, we pushed on to Peene.

The cafe was surprisingly quiet and for around £10 you could get a bacon roll, hot drink and slice of cake. Our return route took us via Stowting and Brabourne, around this point Gianluca took an alternate route and we pushed on through Mersham to Sugar Loaf then Kennardington for a 12.15 finish and a brief debrief at the Black Lion, joined again by Gianluca.
