Black group Sunday club ride

A strong group set of to the Lift cafe in Folkestone. Good to have James Ashburnham with us and to see the Maratona boys back. A route out through the marsh to enjoy the wind on our backs was decided upon and a healthy pace ensued. Healthy was then cranked up a notch or 3 as James took to the front along Sandgate. A few foolhardy souls got on the train with Steve being the last man standing. An excellent breakfast was had with a unanimous agreement that they serve the best bacon rolls. A route of hills on the return leg to get shelter from the wind, and after much huffing and puffing we were back at Appledore and the Black Lion. Beer was enjoyed in the midday sun with light hearted chat of American and UK politics and Steve’s Dutch ancestry. School boy error from Nick after leaving pub and getting a little way along the canal before being asked why we was no longer wearing his helmet. Yep left at the pub, hey ho we’ve all done it.
