Black Group Sunday club run

Summer returned for this Sunday’s ride and where else to go but the seaside. The Lift cafe Folkestone was the destination and 6 set off, though not before Nick realised he’d unfortunately suffered a puncture. Despite some gentle barracking a new tube was in place and we were on our way. Taking in some hills via Aldington, Brabourne, Postling then finally some fast down at Etchinghill. Through the streets of Cheriton and we were soon at the Lift ordering breakfast. The return was flat and riding along the to begin then Paul led us through the back streets of Hythe then the cycle path before taking the sea wall to Dymchurch. It was back on the road and through to St. Mary in the Marsh, Ivychurch and Brenzett. Speeds increased with the thought of a cold beer, James as ever super strong got things going. Then from Brenzett to Appledore with it was team time trial mode with survival of the fittest. Last man standing and winning the sprint was James. To the pub and the well deserved beer we’d promised ourselves.
